Dad and Uncle Charlie in Yosemite

Uncle Charlie took Dad to Yosemite on Tues. 8/18.
Although the water was nearly non-existant they enjoyed the weather
and the opportunity to spend a thoughtful moment with
Grandpa and Grandma Bryan.
Dad enjoyed the time with his brother and handled the day well.
They started out at 8 am and returned at 5 pm!
That's one big day! And I'm sure Dad was ready for a nap upon arriving home!

Dad

Ok, since we now Know that Dad is suffering from Alzhiemer's disease I would like all of us to work on getting updated pictures. I would like him to have a binder full of pictures so that he can try to remember us all for as long as possible. He isn't reading too well these days, but a good sized picture with just simply a name of who is in it should be great for him! Eventually it would be fun to open this up to his extended family, but call me selfish, I really want him to be able to remember us kids for as long as possible! Love you all, LET'S DO THIS!!!

The Youngclaus Chronicles: The Youngclaus Chronicles

The Youngclaus Chronicles: The Youngclaus Chronicles
Ah-ha I have to create a link! Got it!
Well we are all doing fine here at the McFarlands.
Colton enjoyed having his friend over for his football birthday party.  All he wanted to do was play football so I got out of making up games and crafts and all that fun stuff that usually goes along with birthday parties!  Eli got home from work and ran the whole show! It was great!  All I had to do was heat up pizza, and make cupcakes!  So Colton is 9 now and is looking forward to baseball season.  He really enjoys building with legos and can follow those directions very quickly.  He designed his pinewood derby car and will be racing it next week. Last year he came in 2nd place so his expectations are great!
Brooklynn is really coming along with the piano.  They were both playing a lot  of Christmas songs in December.  That was fun.  She would like to play softball this year, so we will try to make that happen.
We went to Sierra Summit on Monday.  Eli found this great program where the kids got free rentals and lessons.  Brooklynn chose to learn how to ski.  She was doing great and having a blast by the end of the day.
Colton learned how to snowboard.  He was thinking it would be sooooo easy because he can skateboard and rip stick, but quickly discovered snowboarding is different!! He had a lot of fun but was definately done by closing time!!!
Jaylin slept most of the day in the Bjorn and was happy to get back home and stretch out!!  She is 3 months old now.  We are trying to get her to laugh, but she's only done once for daddy (the very first laugh he likes to add) and twice for mommy.  She always has smiles to share.  She loves her daddy singing to her.(which surprises the whole family:)(the other kids would cry when he sang but Jaylin just grins!!)  Colton and Brooklynn both love holding her and helping out.  They just miss me spending more time with them at bedtime.  (Their back rub time has be cut drastically) (bedtime is usually when Jaylin decides to scream)
I just joined Weight Watchers again and am ready to see these pounds just melt away!!!  My days are filled with motherly tasks and running the daycare.
Eli will be busy for the next little while.  We are re-doing the fireplace (tore out the brick -to replace it with tile), painting the walls and replacing the old yucky carpet with some wood laminate.  I cant wait to see the finished project!
Hope all is well with every one.

OK..hospital TODAY!!

So my doctor checked me Monday and I'm either posterior or have a tilted uterus. SO... I'm being admitted to Clovis Community TONIGHT!! 5:30pm!! I have to do a few extra steps in the induction process to have everything work according to plan now so it is going to be a very long weekend for us. I guess the good part is I wont' be in a lot of pain for the first day so my mom and dad and friend cody are going to come hang out with us at the hospital and play cards and games and stuff.. haha card games during labor! Gotta love it. Keep us in your prayers that my labor and delivery doesn't last 3 or 4 days!!

Hello Fresno ;)

Well as most of you probably already know...David, Drew and I are officially Fresno, CA residents again. We arrived safe and sound with the moving trucks (I underestimated how much stuff we have and had to rent a 2nd truck) on Sunday, 12/21/08 around 10:30pm. We are staying with my sister and brother-in-law and my 2 nephews (Dylan:10 years old & Dyson: 6 years old) until we find jobs and can move out on our own. Drew LOVES the attention from his older cousins. Christmas was very fun watching Drew open his (and our) presents. Once I find my camera bag I will attempt to upload some new pics of Drew. Hope all is well in your corner of the world and 2009 brings many good things to you. Hugs & kisses all around. -Mona

Blake and Dillon's champion all-star team!
We got a Wii for Christmas, and this was the view until they went back to school 1/5/2009!

Family Pictures

The boys decorating the Christmas tree. (Colby broke his arm on Thanksgiving Day dirt biking out at the desert).

Happy New Year to all

We didn't get our Christmas news letter sent out this year, so we are wishing everyone a happy 2009.
We are ever immersed in sports. We are currently involved as follows: Colby - High School soccer; Austin - MCRF basketball; Blake and Dillon - MCRF basketball and wrestling. Austin did well with the JV basketball team at the middle school. They played Madera Ranchos, where we discovered that Stetson (Greg and Stacy(Youngclaus) Woods) son plays. He is 6'2" at 12 years old! It was commical watching the "normal" sized kids trying to play against him.
Blake and Dillon's soccer team won the championship, and Austin, Blake and Dillon all played on the all-star teams. (The games were played on the date of Brittany's baby shower, so I could not attend.) Blake and Dillon's team won by blowout, 7-0. They had a fabulous team this year. 5 of the players from their league team were on the all-star team. Austin's team did not win, but he played well.
I will try to post pictures soon.
Love to all,
Lynnette
